We recommend you install and use the true type version if you want to
work on Macintosh platform.
To Install the font
The Macintosh files are included with every font package under the
Macintosh folder. In downloadable version the fontware is packaged in a zip
file, so you need an unzip utility to unpack them first. There are many zip
utilities that open ZIP files such as Stuffit Expander (http://www.stuffit.com)
from Aladdin Systems.
The true type file in Macintosh platforms contain two portions - the
data fork and the resource fork. They are packaged in a binary format known
as MacBinary. Thus, before you can install the true type file you need to
unpack this binary file first. This step can be performed by simply double
click the binary file.
Procedure
- Download and install StuffIt Expander if you do not have a ZIP
utility installed in your system. StuffIt Expander is free and can be
downloaded from
http://www.stuffit.com/mac/expander/index.html. When download
completes, double click the icon in the desktop to install StuffIt
Expander.
- Download the Fontware from Morovia web site. Unpack the ZIP by
dragging downloaded ZIP into the StuffIt Expander icon. StuffIt generates
another folder under which you can find a directory named Macintosh.
Double click to open the Macintosh subfolder.
- At this stage you may go ahead to unpack the MacBinary file or read
the readme file. The readme file can be opened in SimpleText.
- Choose the font file you are going to install. Double click the bin
file. The system generates another file with font icon. You have
successfully decode the font.
- Double click the Macintosh Hard Disk icon in the desktop then double
click the System Folder and the Font Folder. To make the font available
to the system, drag and font file into the font folder.
- Reboot the system. The font is now ready to use.
To Remove the font
To remove the fonts installed, just drag and file from the System folder
to the trash can. |
